The three large portraits are a testament to the daily grind and magnitude of mothering and mother-being. The fact that it was impossible for various reasons to take these portraits daily for a year is visible evidence that despite a mother's best efforts and daily attempts to tick all the boxes life often interferes.

I am one mother and have two daughters but during the space of one year we were many versions of ourselves. These portraits recorded an abundance of love, lack of time, demands met, frustrations, longing, doing what needs to be done, persevering, illnesses, injuries and joys.
